The National Bank Open, formerly Rogers Cup

407 ETR Family Weekend returns to the National Bank Open presented by Rogers with fun for all the family

August 3, 2022

Tennis Canada is delighted to announce that the 407 ETR Family Weekend will return to the National Bank Open presented by Rogers bigger and better than ever in 2022. A fan favourite for all ages, the 407 ETR Family Weekend is admission free and will be held over the course of the tournament’s qualifying rounds on Saturday, August 6, and Sunday, August 7.

As world-class players vie for a spot in the main draw, visitors will get the chance to watch the on-court action while enjoying some fun family activities happening on the Sobeys Stadium grounds.

Activities available for guests include meet and greets with kids’ TV mascots from PAW Patrol and Spider-Man. The infamous Air Guitar Contest makes its long-awaited return, and tennis enthusiasts will get to try out the 407 ETR Fast Serve Cage, which allows them to see how quick their serve truly is. Other activities include face painting, balloon artists, slime stations, and much more.

New to this year’s 407 ETR Family Weekend is the addition of Tennis Canada’s Mental Timeout activations. Guests are encouraged to sign the positive court pledge, write uplifting postcards to their favourite tennis players, and partake in a relaxing yoga session. The goal of Mental Timeout is to destigmatize mental health issues as well as improve the well-being of athletes on and off the court.

In addition to the return of the Family Weekend, the 2022 edition of the National Bank Open will showcase its largest selection of food & beverage offerings ever – including a brand-new $5 Kids Menu for children 10 and under. For only $5, the little ones can select an item from Pizzaville, Harvey’s, The Pickle Barrel, Anejo, or Kelseys in the Food Courtyard. All Kids Meals are served with apple slices and Flow Alkaline Spring Water.

Visit the 407 ETR Family Weekend web page for the full list of activities, and don’t forget to claim your free tickets!
